Catholic
University School was founded in 1867 from a school in Harcourt Street, Saint Laurence O'Toole Academy which was founded by Cardinal Newman. CUS began with just 80 pupils on its first
roll. It was the second school to be opened by the Marist
Fathers in Ireland coming after St Mary’s College Dundalk
which was opened in 1861. It is situated in Lower Leeson Dublin
2, near to St Stephens Green. Fr. Martin Daly sm is the principal
of the school. Mr. Kevin Jennings is the Vice-Principal. CUS
educates boys from age four up to the leaving certificate.
At present it has approximated 500 pupils.
