Reflection

Ocean …Marists follow in the footsteps of those who began the Marist project. They too are determined to fulfil Mary's desire to be through them a support for the Church in these uncertain times. (Constitutions 5) On July, 23rd 1816, at the shrine of Our Lady of Fourviere, Lyons, twelve priests and seminarians pledged themselves to found a congregation bearing the name of Mary. Those who worked for the next twenty years to carry out this promise where convinced that they were responding to a wish of the Mother of Mercy, which found expression for them in the following words: "I supported the Church at its birth; I shall do so again at the end of time" (Constitutions 2)

Call to mind times when you have been moved by wonder at a power greater than yourself and give thanks.

Remember now those people and concerns that are dear to you and entrust them to God.
